“Then we were just about to unfold the mystery which has baffled humankind since the beginning of time." His eyes started to glow. For a moment - he was again 28 years old again, standing somewhere in the past feeling the same temptation to have it.
"Yes…,” he said, as if he was hypnotized by some miraculous power. It seemed that he was in a trance.
"We ....... we….,” He stammered, “We were just about to find the missing link-the truth-the purpose of our life our existence-the elixir of life elixir of universe-every thing. We were about to know every thing."
He sighed and added, "Yes every thing." He waited for a while, pulled a long breath of air, and continued. "We were thinking the world would soon change, every thing around us will be new. A new definition of god, new faith, and all will be defined by humans". Mankind was about to overthrow god from his seat.
"One of us exuberantly grunted, ‘we turned this universe upside down.’ As soon as we perceived what he said we all joined our hands, raised them upwards and in unison we all started saying yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!". There was pain behind his hard and stark face.
"Then suddenly one of us shouted ‘we did it’ and my friends started to celebrate and I too was a part of it." He confessed like an accused criminal.
"Celebrations were all over and suddenly I was hit by a thought; I felt that we were missing something. Yeah! I realized we were celebrating without even having it. The few seconds I gave to think over this brought another thought for me and I felt like I was blown by a truck".
"I saw my friends were celebrating as if they got every thing they had come for, while I realized something else, something difficult to accept, and hard to swallow. I trembled”.
He took some time and said, “We all were standing at the other end of the universe.” His face was still hard and expressionless as he declared, “The wrong end".
"I stood paralyzed, I felt like I was dead, terra-firma beneath me was yanked. I fell on my knees, ‘oh my GOD!’ I wailed in anguish. My friends unaware were still celebrating".
“The divine prophecy then echoed in my mind which I heard before beginning all this, which actually a saint was chanting in some other language. At least not for me which meant ‘god has its own way to teach people’. Although something within me struck and said ‘its for you’ I just ignored it as one more of thought we regularly have hardly thinking over it. After being cruelly chased by destiny I realized yeah It was for me.”
“A divine prophecy sent by the omnipotent to warn me, whom I ignored”. It seemed that pain of guilt had breached the thick wall of his serenity and he would soon start crying.
